The XE SV Project 8 is the latest creation to come out of Jaguar-Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations. Though based on the company’s compact sedan, the Project 8 has been completely reworked from the ground up to be an absolute track beast, which is probably why it’s by far the most expensive sedan in Jaguar’s lineup.
According to Car and Driver, the XE Project 8 will start at $188,495, a price more than $65,000 higher than the next-most-expensive XJR575 and more than five times pricier than a base-model XE. But there’s good reason behind the seemingly ludicrous number.
As we’ve told you before, the XE SV Project 8 is basically a brand new car built by SVO. The only body panels shared with the standard car are the two front doors and roof—everything else is totally bespoke, shaped to fit that 592-horsepower supercharged V8 and those gigantic 305 width tires. The car can do 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, and tops out at 200 mph.
Jaguar’s only building 300 examples, and Car and Driver suspects only around 60 of them will make it stateside. Get your order in soon.
