This Is The New 500-HP, 200 MPH TVR Griffith

TVR has been teasing us for months with renders and blueprints of its all new sports car, and now, we finally get to see it. This is TVR’s return to car-making, the 500-horsepower, six-speed Griffith. Hell yeah.

The new Griffith was revealed today at the Goodwood Revival, and features a Cosworth-tuned, 500-horsepower 5.0-liter Ford V8 connected to a Tremec Magnum XL six-speed manual sending power to the rear wheels. Top speed is more than 200 mph. TVR says the car has a 50:50 weight distribution, and according to official blueprints released earlier this week, it weighs just 2755 pounds. Did we mention it also looks fantastic?

The sloped rear and horizontal headlights scream TVR, while the huge diffuser and active rear wing emphasize serious performance. Out front, the headlight/intake combination design reminds us of the McLaren 720S, and the long front hood exudes sporting British grand tourer.

Side-exit exhaust pipes sit in front of the driver’s cabin behind the front wheel, saving weight and complexity, while AP Racing brakes provide stopping power. The launch edition shown here features a unique red-orange paint, custom alloy wheels, a full leather interior, and a bespoke infotainment system.

All 250 TVR Griffiths planned for production in its first year sold out two years ago, and as of May of 2017, more than 400 examples have been sold in total. U.S. availability is sadly still up in the air. Production starts in late 2018, and pricing starts at £90,000, or around $119,000 in American dollars.
