This Testarossa-Fied C4 Corvette Is Actually Pretty Great
Usually, body kits make a car look worse. Often times, designs are ripped off from other cars, then clumsily slapped together without any care for the donor car’s overall proportions. This C4 Corvette is different. We think you should buy it.
This C4 has been converted into what the seller calls a Corvette “Brilliante.” There isn’t much info about this body kit conversion on the internet, though Carscoops claims it was built by Classic International in California. Whatever the case may be, the longer we look at it, the more we actually like it.
Unlike most aftermarket body kits-especially ones that mimic the design of a well-known high-end exotic-this one seems extremely well-done. The proportions are all correct, and the panel gaps are consistent. Everything seems to fit into place nicely, including the Testarossa-inspired side strakes and bumper fascias. It might not be up to Ferrari standards, but from some angles, this car seems like something that could’ve rolled off a factory line.
Of course, when you actually start to spend some time looking at the photos, the C4 Corvette underneath starts to shine through. The engine bay is unmodified, still sporting that 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V8. The gauge cluster, though shrouded in aftermarket wood trim, is still the standard Corvette digital display unit. Even the shift knob is a factory C4 piece.
Considering the $35,000 asking price on eBay Motors, we’d say this isn’t the worst deal in the world. If you’re looking for a Corvette that’ll stand out among the dozens of identical cars at your local meet, this is an easy way to do it. The seller claims this Brilliante is one of just ten in existence, and the only one painted in this dark purple color. We’d say that’s enough of a reason to pull the trigger.
