What’s the Best New V8-Powered Car You Can Buy
The age of turbocharging is upon us, and the golden age of the naturally aspirated V8 has come and gone. But just because forced induction dominates the industry doesn’t mean companies have stopped making great V8s. Which new V8-powered car do you like the most?
Take Mercedes-AMG’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo unit, for example. Despite being turbocharged, it makes a wonderful noise, and delivers the torque and power you’d expect from a well-crafted V8 engine. I drove an AMG GT R last year with a 577-horsepower version of this engine, and I still think about it often.
Now we’d like to know: What do you think the best new V8 on the market is right now? It doesn’t have to be something fast like the monstrous AMG GT R, either—it could be anything, as long as it has a V8 and can be bought new. Let us know in the comments below.
